With the rest of the artichokes, in California. CASTROVILLE is the Artichoke Capital of the World: http://www.beachcalifornia.com/castrov.html

But artichoke plants make attractive garden shrubs. They take a couple of years to give fruit though.

In California, Castroville. California is a huge producer of lots of agriculture...like avocados, strawberries, rice is a huge export to Asia from California too.
