Why won't Detroit build a 4-cylinder, stick-shift Saturn Aura?

A lot of car models aren't offered in stick shift because the market is very limited. Most people are too lazy to want to drive a manual transmission. In my opinion, you don't drive an automatic - you just steer it.

Saturn is competing against the Accord and the Camry V6 Engines. Neither V6 Engine comes with a stick shift and no one would buy an Aura with a 4 cylinder engine due to lack of power. Americans want power - not thriftiness.

Because you can get a fully-loaded Aura, while at that price the Camry and Accord have less than the base model. V6 gets better city MPG, but less highway and idling.
