Try posting some details! We can't read your mind! There are all sorts of scams and without detailed information there's no way for anyone to evaluate it.

But as a very general rule of thumb, if you even have to think of asking if it's a scam, then it IS a scam!

If it's one of those "deals" where someone promises to spirit a large sum of money out of a country (often Nigeia or some ultra-poor African nation but could be anywhere) in exchange for a % of the funds then it's one of the oldest scams on the net. In fact, it predates the net by more than a decade -- it used to be circulated by fax back in the 1980s and early 1990s.

I have three checks each for $950.00 that look liget but when I called the banck where they were issued there was no account! So I turned the checks over to the locals. There are allot of Scams out there on the Internet. These guys got my info off the Monster.com website where I was looking for a job. They made threats because I didn't cash the checks at a check cashing place and I just threatened them right back!
Investigate any company and make sure they are okay prior to doign anything...... Its scarey out there!
Anyone got a job for me????

yes, there are lots of inheritance scam, if you suspect it, then you need to put a stop on the release of the inheritance until you have investigated. They don't need to know you stopped it, just tell them that there are questions. GOOD LUCK

You're about to "close the deal" what does that mean? Have you already given them your personal info? If so call the cops now. If not, don't do it. If this person who died is a relative you didn't know you had, or there was some long convoluted story about it, it is a con. Please stop everything.
