In the water column, the deepest area is known as the hadopelagic or hadal zone. This is mainly the deep areas of the ocean trenches, like the Mariana Trench. The area right above that is the abyssopelagic or abyssal zone, which is 4000 meters deep to just above the ocean floor.

The Marina Trench. Its quite a few miles deep. Oh! No.... the bottom is the deepest part.
