He/she can be, but the public will never let them be 100% honest. You have many that take the politicians word for what they're saying and many who close thier eyes and ears and come up with conspiracies about the person because that person isn't in thier political party, thus they keep themselves ignorant by blasting at the politician of thier choice for all thier problems

A good politican can't be elected because they would refuse to sell their decision making power to the corporations that line the pockets of any candidate with enough money to win an election... so no... the good politicians are the sad people you see drinking alone at a bar, not the people you see on C-SPAN

Why not ? Many of them have done just this.. There is no difference between being honest and keeping secrets. There is a big difference between keeping LIES secret and being honest.
