My fault, I worded incorrectly. Same question.

Just for a moment, lets stop mudslinging...?
Is anybody seriously worried about being nuked? Or is all anyone can think about is which party to blame? I'm actually worried for the first time...Its one thing to raise the terror level but another thing entirely to hear about Nuke testing. I was just wondering if anyone else might be a little concerned?

I read a book when I was little called "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes", it was about a little girl who lived near Hiroshima during the late 80's (when I read it) who suddenly came down with radiation poisoning and died at 12 years old. I haven't read that book since I was 8 years old...and I remember it better than yesterday’s newspaper.

My mother (ex-hippie) ran a center for peace and justice in the downstairs of our house while I was growing up, I have been knee deep in politics and world-awareness since I was born; I'm starting to wonder if people (including me) are getting desensitized and aren't going to really be scared until we hear "They have launched" on the emergency broadcast system...?

Proud2bamerican...I'm not in charge of the country...Bush is. There you go, you cant even hold it together long enough to address the question. I won't attack Bush about this, because his @$$ will die along with the rest of us if we got bombed. The question WAS NOT about any administration, it was about fear factors in america. You dip$hit

I just noticed proud2bamerican just copies and pastes the same responses. Way to go with the original thoughts!

Yes. I am very worried. I was just talking to my boss today about it. I do keep a close eye and I told her if I could ask Pres. B ONE question it would be, "Do you want to die?" I dont understand why he is pushing and pushing and pushing. B/c one of these times Ol' Kim is gonna fall off the edge. And do you think Kim cares if his actions lead to his own death? Of course not. As for Bush... ok, so he gets on his big fancy plane should something happen and he and his important ppl are all that survive, what will they do then?

THEY ARE JUST NOT THINKING CLEARLY!!!

All I say is go out and enjoy your life. Don't stress about work. Just show up and do what you can. Take care of your families and friends. Shut the tv off and enjoy them. Get out of the house on the weekends and drive as far as you can before turning back. Eat slower, enjoy the taste. Don't worry about money.. and loans. Who knows if you will ever have to pay them back, lol.

No seriously. I guess Im just trying to say enjoy life and dont look back. None of us know how long we have but with these current events it doesn't look like long.

Oh, and pray, if you do.

I too typed out a response to you being scared...

Here it is and it isn't mudslinging.. it is the facts. .......

You should be scared. I hope you are damn near petrified.

You have spent so much time and energy trying to discredit our Administration that you haven't paid attention to one word they have been saying for the past half decade. He has repeatedly warned the American public what could happen and a large portion of the American public have continued to say they were just scare tactics, you included. Well guess what, he was right.

President Bush is not the enemy. Wake-up Sticky. The enemy or enemies wants to kill you and destroy your country regardless if you hate Bush or not. All you are to the enemies of the United States is a pawn just like in a game of chess. You are a pawn and you are helping them by contributing to the unrest inside your own country. Even some Democratic leaders are wising up, putting political game playing aside and falling in line to support our leader right now.

I don't give a hoot if you don't like your President. You need to put your personal feelings aside to support your President and your Country right now. There has never been a time in your life that this has been more important and I pray that there is never one again.

Get angry at me for what I say. Throw a tantrum and call President Bush every name in the book that you can but a white boy. Extreme statement? Yes it is but you need to get those rose colored glasses off and see what is happening. Your Mothers ideals are/were wonderful. They were warranted in *that* era. That was decades ago. The world isn't in the same place today as it was then.

The fact is President Bush is doing EXACTLY what needs to be done to bring us all through this alive and our country intact, no thanks to you.

Hold it together? Address the question? I saw your other post. The one you decided to delete because you contradicted yourself all inside of one paragraph. I've addressed your *concern*. I also am holding it together. I happen to believe that intellect and common sense will eventually prevail and that the US will overcome these crisises. What about you?

No, I am not worried about getting nuked. We have no serious issues with Russia or any other nuclear power, except North Korea.

Their nuke technology is still very primitive, and I do not believe they have the technology to actually deliver one to the USA. Their long range missile tests generally fail. Even if they somehow did manage it, they know that would result in North Korea being pummeled with several nukes in return, and ours will get there and are much more powerful.

It is possible that some terrorists could steal a nuke from Russia, but that's not too great of a threat. Besides, if they actually used it, they would know the response from the USA would be way out of proportion. Even if we didn't nuke back, us and the rest of the western countries would go ape and send our militaries everywhere to annihilate them.

Yes. But it's a risk we lived with for a long time. The overall probability is low. And the probability that each of us WILL die eventually is 100%.

North Korea's leader will NOT attack us. He does not want to be incinerated by us. He wants to blackmail us. We should call his bluff, and arm the neighboring states. The more his conduct costs him rather than benefits him, the less he will do it.

I guess he could sell a nuke, which is another problem. The world is trying to deal with it.

I'd still say it's OK to buy green bananas. I expect we'll be here a while. :)

Why should we be any more scared then any other generation? In the 60's it was the Cuban Missle Crisis. Then the Cold War. Two world wars before that. Vietnam. Korea. The middle east has been a problem for a very long time. My point is every generation has it's crisis. This one is no different.

I'm not scared because I refuse to worry about this. That's not the way to live life. I'm aware of it, of course. I'm concerned. To be scared allows it a control over your life that is just a waste of time.

Im only concerned that the US government will **** this up too.
North Korea is obviously very worried about being attacked by the US and feels it needs nukes for a counter attack should it come to that.
This is a country that its entire population has been raised on hate and fear of the US government, they have an army of a million plus, we should not mess around with them and should take them seriously. If that is done Im not worried about being nuked.

I am not worried about it at the moment. The North Koreans are far more likely to Nuke Japan or South Korea than the US.

Additionally, they dont have a rocket capable of reaching the southern US right now and probably wont for quite some time, if ever.

I am somewhat concerned but they haven't got a long range nuke that could reach this far. The ones that should be more concerned for the time being is the countries closer to them. We are all going to die one day and no one knows what it is going to be from. For all anyone knows it could be from global warming...the ozone layer could be destroyed enough one day to let the sun rays in to burn us all up or maybe we will drown when the glaciers all melt and we have no place to go. If you spend your entire life worrying about stuff like this then you really don't have a life.

I am worried about it. In this world, each person can control only themselves and their decisions. Placing blame on anyone during any situation is wasting time and emotion.
I think I am so concerned because there is an actual threat here-not just terrorists-but nuclear weapons. How could we survive that? The best thing to do is to try and prevent it from happening.
I heard Condelisa Rice state that we were going to put some economic sanctions on N Korea-but if they could just blow us up-why would they care that we stop any aide to them?????
People need to wake up here.

I seriously doubt that North Korea will have the balls to actually attack anyone. There is so much world pressure on them right now. Even their supposed allies (China & Russia) have condemned the testing. The world community would never allow something like that to happen.
