I went back down to 116 from 173 after I had my first son. With my second the weight seems to be taking a bit longer to come off or maybe it's just me being impatient. I had him a month ago and my highest weight with him was 183. I am now about 160. I'm wondering if I'll ever get back down to my usual 120. I really didn't do anything after I had my first baby but I walked during the whole pregnancy for 30 minutes a day. I wasn't able to do that this time b/c I was on bedrest. Any suggestions on what I should do to lose the weight? Thx.

It's usually harder with the second. You've gained more wieght than with the first and you're a little older. You've done very wellso far don't get discouraged. Stick to your diet and get plenty of exercise. Walking is great and you can put the babies in a stroller and take along.

Each pregnancy causes more stress on the abdominal muscles, adds more fat, reduces your metabolism (so it's harder to shed fat) and, btw, adds yet another kid you must care for, cutting into your workout schedule!

I worked for a major weight-loss company as a counselor for a while and so many women wanted to "get back to my 18-year-old weight", which was about the same likelihood as getting struck by lightning! Even men's metabolism decreases w/age and fat is gained over muscle...it's nature!

My advice: STOP HAVING KIDS! With two, you're already at the limit of Zero Population Growth and if you were in China, you'd get fined!
