why do men grow facial hair is there a reason?

2. It is better than shaving every day.
3. To impress women.
4. To look older.
5. To look sophisticated.
6. To change their appearance (like hiding from the law).
7. To impress their male buddies.
8. To stay warmer during the wintertime, especially when deer hunting.
9. To give their facial skin a rest after many days of shaving and possibly chafing.
10. When acting in a play or movie.
11. For religious or cultural reasons.

It is the hormones that make them grow. If a female
takes testosterone in a reasonable amount, she will
also grow facial hair.

The first reason of course is that it's a natural occurrence in the male human, and after that it's up to the individual as to what he does with it. Bum fluff looks ridiculous, so most men wait until they have a strong facial growth until they decide on a beard unless they're a student. (!) Apparently, keeping a beard in trim so that it always looks smart is as much trouble as shaving every day, and this may account for so many men wearing the "five o'clock shadow" or 'stubble' look nowadays.
(Personally of course, I always keep MINE well trimmed..............!) [aren't I supposed to put that daft "LOL" now to show that it's a joke?]

Tom in my opinion i think women spent more of their time in cave while the men were out in the cold hunting. This must have gone on for quit a while. Untill we developed more body hair and facial hair to keep us warm out there.
