Beckham took all the blame for Englands performance in the world cup yet he was the only one dropped from the squad, at the moment none of the other players can take a corner or make a decent pass to the forwards they are missing his pin point passing, Mclarens tack ticks were all wrong two wingers running at the defence with Rooney behind Crouch also running at the defence would probably have created more problems.
Beckham should still be in the squad stuff all those jealous wankers that know little about football, they are probably all TV pundits.

Yeah he did the right thing. People forget that Beckham is now ageing and will be around 34 by the time of the next World Cup. He's probably only got 4 or 5 more years left in him.
In addition, he's probably not been the same player he was at Manchester United. I certainly don't think he's as good now as he was three or four years ago. There are better and far younger players than David Beckham around.
The only thing in his favour is that he makes a good captain in my opinion. England need a leader on the pitch, someone to look up to. I don't feel we have that at the moment.

no longer something against Beckham, besides the undeniable fact that it rather is a clever circulate on McClarens section to do away with somebody who has long previous the way David did. once you're a captain to your usa, have adverse outcomes in the international Cup, and then are no longer to any extent further captain, it may well be perceived as an acceptance of issues as they are in case you preserve one around (Beckham). some experience that Mr. Beckham isn't an entire participant and to do away with him from squad provides an probability to go into the desirable direction to boost. it could even have been finished to income the participant too. there could be deep psychological factors that would desire to be picked up by his acquaintances and characteristic a manner of injuring the team. permit's all wish that David Beckham unearths extra glory even at this think approximately his profession.

Yes - only because Beckham is already at the twilight of his career. Even Real Madrid won't give him a bigger contract so go figure.

However......

Let's face it.

English managers can't coach their English talent anymore because the star players play under foreigners at their clubs, and usually the English players are well used under foreign coaches, where for the English managers, they don't seem to have the creativity or tactical expertise that their foreign counterparts do when coaching the likes of Gerrard, Rooney, and Lampard.

I don't think it was the right thing. Sure, maybe drop him from the team...but not the squad altogether. With Beckham at least you know that you will get at least 2-3 killer balls/ set pieces per game. I somehow think Steve Mclaren will rue this one.
P.s.....why he continues to select Stuart Downing...is a mystery.....loyalty perhaps?

I think that up to a point Steve was right to drop Becks - Steve was the new manager and had to "make his mark" so to speak. There had obviously been too many instances of "nepotism" for David to remain a team player. Plus, to be brutally honest, David's poor form during the Word Cup and in the preceding matches meant Steve could not justify keeping him place in the team.

BUT..I think Steve was wrong to "close the door" by giving the impression that he would never again pick David to play for his country. Whatever else is said, David is a good strong influence in the team - God knows we could have done with him last Saturday!

Steve Mc Claren wz du,m in droppin Beckham fully. Not playing him in a few matches would have been better, but droppin him fully? Thats why they cant even beat Macedonia.

No, I don't think he did. Becks plays with his heart and soul and inspires the rest of the team to do the same.

Everyone has off times; but it seems to me that David Beckham is paying the price for Sven's idiocy!

I think there is more than meets the eye to this beckam thing,,
U do not drop the captain like that,, and seems a bit of a coincidence he resigns from captain, and then to be dropped from squad,,
I think he knew before that he was going to be dropped, and so saved face by resigning as captain.. I think he was dropped for other reasons , not for his skills or lack off.
