I am 19 weeks 5 days.... yesterday I had my ultrasound and the Dr. said everything looked fine and that my baby was healthy. Well of course they gave me a copy of the ultrsound pic but the more I look at it today the more questions I have..... particularly the forehead. It looks really big. It didn't look that way when I was looking at the screen but on the picture it does. I have spoken to other expecting moms who say that their baby's ultrasound pic in 2D looked that way but when the baby came out everything was perfect. Has anyone else experienced this? Could it be that 2D's are not very clear or is it normal for this age and it is still developing. Oh yeah... neither me nor my husband have that forehead.

Everything looks goofy and off balance on the pictures. I had one of my daughter's face and it was scarey! Her nose was huge and eyes were small, plus she had the giant forehead too! In the end, she was born with a cute little button nose, and big blue eyes. Her forehead still looked a little big, (but nothing like the picture) and it was because she was so bald! She is a year now and is beautiful and forehead is normal. Good Luck, I am sure everything is fine and you will have a beautiful baby.

the baby head isn't proportionate to his body until about 30 weeks...and the baby's head is the same size as his abdomen around 36 weeks

So don't fret that your baby has a big forehead.its not that serious and should be the least of your concerns....lots can go wrong in 20 weeks!!!!! So try and fill your mom with more important things other than your baby having a forehead "neither me nor your husband" has

For awhile the baby's head is bigger than the rest of the body. Don't worry the little babe is going to grow into the forehead and at birth will look normal.

You have nothing to worry about, when I saw my ultrasound for the first time the body looked more like the head than the head. (the internal organs looked like eyes, nose etc.) Those pictures can really only be interpreted by an expert and sometimes even they get it wrong (tell you its a girl when its a boy for eg.) Anyways good luck and enjoy your precious gift when he/she arrives.

Your baby is still developing and the head always looks like a cashew during the first two trimesters, don't worry it's normal.

I think those pictures are distorted. Also, at 19 weeks the baby isn't quite developed. Premmies usually have long faces/heads. Don't you think? Don't worry!! When that baby is born it will be beautiful!!

on babycenter.com there is a board that you can chat on.. there is an u/s one where a lady that is a technician can have a look at your scan and tell you if it looks normal. great for putting your mind at rest.

For the record if the doc says its fine hon it probbaly is and congratulations on your healthy baby
