Sewage systems empty out into the ocean. Especially in places with fancy beach resorts, they actually build pipes that bring the sewage a few hundred feet off shore so that people swimming in the beaches aren't swimming in waste. Instead, the coral reefs become covered with it, and the coral dies. Also, industrial and agricultural pollutants are often dumped into the ocean like this with similar effect.

man made pollution floating around the ocean. All those chemicals companies dump into the water can't be good. There is a Weyerhaeuser plant in Washington, across the Columbia from me, and it just pays the fines for polluting the river, but doesn't fix the issue.

River runs to the ocean and beyond the pacific for an example. On the Willamette River people have been known (as seen on the news) to pull out 3 eyed fish and fish with more than 2 fins while fishing near Oregon City.
