Islam as the religion is not what is hated, but the things that the religion causes it followers to do is. See it is like the media... You can show people only the bad things about the religions even Christianity... You can make peoplebelieve that there is no good in the world. Most people will develop fear out of these things... Because they do not do the research for themselves. they would much rather a person behind a desk in a business suit tell them the atrocities of the world. Same with Politicians. Not that they are doing "evil" just doing their job. So it is not the Islam that people fear it is the radicals that do things to innocent people that scare people. it is the same when people go radical with Christianity and start claiming they are Christ themselves... as to why it is the fastest growing... i think it is because in the middle east all they know is fighting and the Koran gives them an excuse to be ok with some of the junk that goes on. I know some Islamic people. They are nice and would not hurt innocent whether we are infidels or not. The Koran gives permission for them to kill infidels and that is why it grows so fast...

Why is it that Islam is the most hated religion in the world but the fastest growing belief.? [It may not be the most hated but maybe the most misunderstood religion reasons for this is because of all the negative publicity since 9/11/2001. Why? The Media. Just like it portrays Black Men the same way. And I'm a Christian but study all religions. That's the only way too understand the world and its different cultures is too learn. url-http://www.greatcom.org/resources/handbook_of_todays_religions/03chap09/default.htm

Hated, because people of that religion are a bit obsessive over Allah. Fastest growing because of population, but if not the population in the third world countries growing the Christianity is the fastest. Link below proves you wrong

Because many people are disillusioned with the way that things are in the west, with the shallowness and mediocrity that life has to offer and are looking for a religion which offers then answers. At the same time, those that are turning away from other religions are worried about the spread of Islam and are scared because it is on the increase.

Perhaps hated (more accurately feared) because the Koran says "cut off the heads of the infidels with a short knife". It's bad enough when people insist that you think their way. When you add the threat of murder to the equation, you're not gonna make a lot of friends! The "short knife" aspect also suggests an inhumane and slow tortured death. Killing innocents en mass doesn't add much to their popularity. Liberal college students who are exposed to a selectively abridged version of the Koran feel that we should try to understand Islam and it's practitioners. on the other hand, they claim to be atheists. Christians have been guilty historically of murder in the name of God, in spite of a little suggestion that goes something like "Thou shalt not kill". But with Christianity, there's nothing in the writings indicating that you should kill in the name of God; in Islam there is. College students convert to Islam because they feel insignificant, and are trying to create an identity for themselves. They are dissatisfied with the way our government is handling things, and make an association between Christianity and G.W. Bush. But there is no intrinsic connection between Bush and Biblical teachings. Essentially, they think Muslim is cool, because it's anti-American. Of course, there are different categories of Muslims, and they kill each other, even though they're reading from the same Koran. There are different denominations of Christianity, as well as Judaism, but these people don't seem to need to kill each other. So who hates or fears Muslims? Those who don't want to be killed by them. Who converts to Islam? Those who want to be cool!

A lot of terrorist wanna-bees want to "get back" at the U.S. for their miserable failures (apparently, Middle Eastern countries won't take responsibility for their own flaws so they blame someone else out of envy).
