Gain, Gain, Gain! I worked once in a Nursing Home...one patient there had a terrible incontinent problem, but I could open her closet and take care of business...asked her niece (who did her laundry) what DO you use...she told me Gain and I'm stuck on it ever since...I use Original only, Liquid Detergent, Liquid Softener, and Dryer Sheets...and I use the dryer sheets all over the house...even to wipe down the dog! Beautiful!

Gain smells THE best.
Also, if you have odor in your drawers: heres a tip:
unwrap a bar of strong smelling soap and place them in your drawers among your clothes. This will make your clothes smell great too, and help with the smell in the drawers. It also will prolong the life of your soap by evaporating all of the moisture out of the soap- this is what makes soap "melt" so quickly.

Gain and Vanilla dryer sheets..
for your drawers...put vanilla dryer sheets UNDER some wax paper...to line your drawers...you do not want to just put the dryer sheets in the drawers because the chemicals in the sheets will stain your clothes.......that pine smell is yuckey!! I agree

I use Gain.. It smells great and your clothes stay smelling fresh for weeks, just like the commercials claim. Also, for your new drawers, you may try putting a dryer sheet or something in them.

Gain. I wash everything that can be cleaned at home with it once a month and my house smells like for about 3 days.

it's not the detergent smell that lingers, it's the fabric softener. i use downy liquid, 2x as what it calls for and i don't overdry the clothes. if they are just barely dry and a little damp to the touch, when they are fully dry and all folded they smell great! especially if you hang them up somewhere in the house. i hangall my linens in the house leaning off chairs in my dining room. that way they have maximum scent!
