Personally I think there is a trap door at the back of the dryer that opens just to let out one sock from a pair. Never fails I always lose at least one sock. lol have a great day

The dryer eats them, but only one from each pair!
Actually, if you are losing socks, the washer is the more likely culprit (if the odd sock isn't behind your machines or under your bed or dresser). They could be making it out of the tub and into other parts of the machine.
Try putting your socks in lingerie bags (1 bag for each color) when you take them off and washing them right in the bags. You may have to let them finish drying by laying them out on the bed or table when you remove them from the dryer, but at least they will be together!

ah interesting, now socks are wild creatures and every now and again they see the opportunity to leave, bras and other items try it but usually this ends up with you bra boning leaving the bra that lovely semi circle of pain!! The socks should stay in pairs, but one is never sure to leave at that particular time and holds on till the fast spin and then, alas it is too late.

I heard it's actually the washer that eats socks. They get pushed up over the edge of the tub. I'll bet I have 37 socks on the outside of my washer tub.

They dry but i dont know why but i always manage to loose one sock when i now that i have put a pair in there!

well there fine in the dryer its after the dryer has finished. a few hold onto the door as it is opened and use it as a chance to escape.

I don't know who knows the answer to that question,maybe the
little sock-nicker that lives in every washing-machine I have ever owned !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By the way I got soooo peed off with it I now wash all socks in a buttoned-up pillowcase !

they get stolen by the white witch of narnia, and go on magical journeys with Mr Tumnus, don't fear they will turn up soon with wonderful stories from another world (they probably will turn up under your pillow, or crammed down the back of the refrigirator)
