My point of this is this. Major League Baseball has created baseball acadamys in Latin America and the Pacific Rim. In a place where soccor is king, baseball has flourished. Now, what if baseball would open baseball schools in Europe and gave kids a chance to play the great game and see how much fun the game could be. Would baseball make some noise? Also, if the MLB would put in acadamies in cities like Chicago, Detriot, Dallas, New York, would they be able to raise the interst of African-Americans again?

In not all Latin American countries football is king. In Nicaragua, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, Cuba and Dominican Republic baseball is more popular than football. And if I am not wrong was exactly in that countries that the academies were established.

There are little leagues, pony leagues, pioneer leagues, minor leagues all over the place. So for the most part there are academies out there. Problem is, the cost of signing your kid up can for little league can be prohibitive. Maybe they should work on scholarship programs for kids to get a chance to play.
