first years will always get ragged, just ride with it for a year and then sigh with relief when the new first years come in next year. If the ragging is too much to bear you need to report it - complaining to the seniors wont help, you are right, but reporting it will help.

I know of two children who actually died from ragging gone bad. This has to be addressed and challenged by the Administration as well as the Parents. Perhaps getting the Police involved to come to the Institution and warn that arrests can and will be made could be a deterrent. It's high time this utter rubbish be put to an end.

Psychiatrists claim that ragging, which borders on harassment, leaves an indelible mark on the psyche of the victim. Vouching for this is a senior member of the Delhi University, who having experienced the worst, still shudders at the thought

Two brothers in HS. Junior is a bookworm and still gets harassed. Freshman is athletic, but the key is confidant.
Help a young student to have self confidence and he\she won't be bothered as much.

That's how it's always been - seniors harassing freshmen. Perhaps if such a generation of wimps hadn't been created, you wouldn't be whining about it. This was a way of life when I was that age. Granted, I already had an in when I was an underclassman as my brother was such the ladies' man.

on the back part
our society continues to actually enjoy this whole aggressive life value, it in the end has earned us a status as most hated nation. We need a form of public protest that says we are really tired of this being a continuing life style.

the best way is ----- Ask your ward / child not to rag his or her juniors when he or she becomes a senior in next year . Ultimately ragging will die out .
