I have a degree in economics and I think it's interesting. In the professional world, probably some management concepts are probably more important, and more practical.
I loved almost all my economic courses because almost anything in world has an economic concept behind it, it's like math and physics, it's just everywhere around you.
Read "Freakonomics", it's a great book and if it has some basic concepts that you can explore further in economics books if you get interested.

I tried several times in school and college. I dropped them all so I wouldn't flunk. Yet my father had a degree in economics. And I ended up owning my own business. Must have been a grasp of econ I learned from him.

The school stuff is just book-learning. Really, I don't remember a darned word of anything I read in school econ.
