My ex-husband and I sold Amway in the 1990's for about a year. The guy who was over us made all the money, not us. I was so disgusted. Its a pyramid scheme, don't do it.

In theory, you can make lots of money with Amway. In reality, some people do too.
It is set up so that if you work at it, breath it, live it, and get bunches of other people to do the same, then there is money to be made. Problem is, the further down you are on the food chain, the less you are likely to make.
If you can apply their business model to an online business promoting and selling products online, you can contact many more people and stand a larger chance of making the money you are looking for.
Start with an affiliate site and learn the ropes. Who knows, you could be the next Wal-Mart.

People can make a living selling Amway. The people who say it sucks are the people who tried it, sat on the couch and waited for the buyers to come to them. This is a business that you have to work very hard, just like any real business. Most of the upper people make the real money off the idea than someone like you or me. Again you can make a good living, but you have to work very hard.
Personally, if you are going to spend the time working a business, there are a lot of better business models out there that in the long run will be better for you.

Hi, I just read your profile and see that you are a cashier in a natural food store. I would like to invite to visit my website and click on the links on the right hand side of the page to listen about a company called Arbonne. They are vegan approved, have no animal by-product in the and have never been tested on animals. You were asking about Amway. It is part of the MLM business and in any of them you are going to have to work, but you have to treat it like a job, not a hobby. You are in business for yourself so you decide if you want your business to be successful and not look at everyone else. It would be the same as if you had a brick and mortar business. Here is the link if you are interested to listen...we never have anything to lose by listening and sometimes a whole lot to gain. Good luck to you. http://www.wonderful.myarbonne.com

Not anyone I knew before I was in it. It didn't work for me and believe me I put everything into it including investing money in the system which was money I didn't have. It didn't make anyone in Essex (UK) rich, despite a very large population. It didn't work for me but I was made to feel that if you left you were quitting on yourself. In real business terms, I should have left years before I actually did as it held me back as I had put my life on hold to achieve in Amway. Since leaving in 2000, my life has got back on course and I am now a director of my own company. No one could question my commitment to the business when I was in it although people did purely on the lack of new members I was getting despite 7 years of continual high amounts of effort. Its hard for an upline to admit that the business doesn't work for some if not the majority of their downline because if people leave it affects their income. This means that people who try to persuade or argue against motives for leaving are often arguing for their own interests. Thats my 'qualified' view on the subject

Well, if you're good enough to sell a lot of amway products, imagine how much you would make selling cars or houses? If you really like selling, get a realtor's licence and you definitely will make a lot of money.

The rich people whom you see, when you go to Amway presentations, are people who sell books and tapes that all of the "distributors" buy, so that they can figure out how to get rich. The real secret, which is never in those books and tapes is, "Sell books and tapes."

Amway does work, but I don't believe it is still legally operating here in the united states. I work in starting people up with their own internet businesses and specialize in private franchises. You can check me out at http://www.myspace.com/dreambuildinfool or e-mail me at bcook@thewavecraze.com and I can get you some more information
