How much diesel is the biggest question. 1 gallon in a 15 gallon tank, 5 gallons in a 15 gallon tank, or 15 gallons in a 15 gallon tank? At the 1 gallon level, you probably won't notice anything different. At the 5 gallon level, you will get blue-grey smoke from the exhaust pipes and the car/truck will run like crap. At the 15 gallon level, your engine probably won't run but if it does ... you will get a lot of blue-grey smoke and you'll be putting a lot of carbon on your spark plugs because diesel has a lower flash-point than gasoline. My suggestion as a lay-person would be to drop your fuel tank and drain out the diesel fuel but do it responsibly! Catch the fuel in a container and take it to a recycler or give it to a friend that uses diesel fuel!! Change your fuel filters and spark plugs, and use a bottle of "carb cleaner" in the tank with the first couple tanks of gas.

Matt, it's never sure winner, however, you can drain the tank first, then add about 5 gals of high grade gasoline to the tank along with a fuel additive that's desighned to boost the octane of your fuel so that it burns hotter. Hopefully, if you havent run very much diesel thru it, the additives will be able to clean the internal parts of the fuel system on the car. Good Luck. Larry.

Diesel fuel won't harm your gasoline engine, but the engine won't run on it either.

You will have to drain the gas tank.

The cheapest way I can imagine to rid yourself of this dilemna is to disconnect the fuel line at the engine end, and hotwire the fuel pump so that it simply pumps out all the deisel fuel.

Now fill your gas tank with gasoline, and put up with alot of smoke until it works its way out of your system. It's going to be a bugger to start.

It's a safe bet the deisel fuel will screw up the catalytic converter, so that's where the major expense for this little fiasco will end up.

Take your car in and have them drain the fuel tank. If you used the truck with diesel in the tank you might need to have the engine checked for damage.

Diesel gas provides extra torque because it burns at an enhanced warmth, it is likewise plenty extra efficient than gas as you could bypass plenty extra beneficial on a million tank of diesel than you you will in case you used gas. Diesel is now in basic terms as inexpensive as gas as which ability trucking agencies are saving huge $$$

Siphon all the fuel out, re-fill with gas and one of those gas additives that clean fuel injectors. Drive on. It is going to smoke for a tank or so but will be ok. DO NOT DRIVE WITH FUEL IN TANK.
