It's a riddle from a 1st grader and I can't figure it out HELP!!!!!

On the roof. And it`s vane. Can`t figure how it`s a riddle, course it`s hard to figure out a 1st grader.

Um...outside? ...and isn't it vane? Perhaps if it is spelled vein in the riddle, that's part of the pun?
