I like the lip mask and lip balm. The eye makeup removal is great also. Before I went to a Mary Kay party, I was thinking about using foundation and blush. The representative applied the foundation and blush, I look like I was laying in a casket. I looked dead. Now I hate foundation and blush and I don't want to touch it with a 10 foot pole. The representatives are very pushy. I guess they teach that in Mary Kay 101.

I used to use Mary Kay and had even considered becoming a consultant. But, after I found out how much it cost to start up with them, I decided not to.
I stopped using the products as they didn't really seem to be doing their job. I didn't feel good wearing the makeup, etc.

I am now using Arbonne and love it! The products are fabulous. I went ahead and became a consultant, getting 35% off all my orders, because the start up fee was only $29.

I was a consultant for 3 years. Started to just sell to friends, family and personal use. Never wanted the pink caddy. So I love the product and I bought the largest inventory, the bags to haul it all in and ended up hating selling it. I just sold my inventory back to the company and basically got nothing back for it. I love the product and love the fact that they support it 100% and the try before you buy is great. It however doesn't sell itself so to speak. I now sell Tastefully Simple Gourmet food and have been since April of this year- now there is a product that sells itself (check out my site at www.tastefullysimple.com/web/rquinn ) Lets just say that I have put more money in my pocket selling TS in this amount of time than I did with all 3 years with MK- and MK had a 50% profit- TS only has 36%. They will push you to recruit and if you don't want to do it on a large scale this can get very annoying. My director was a ***** and only called me when I didn't put my $400 minimum quarter order in. If you are thinking about selling it really get your questions together and talk with the consultant who is recruiting you and if she isn't a director ask to speak with her director. Only you know what you want to do and where you want to go with it.

You know what I hate about Mary Kay? Let's say you buy the powder foundation. You spend like $15 (guessing as I can't remember). So you get this little round thing with the powder. No holder, no brush. You have to pay for the container with the mirror and I think the brush came free, but it did not come with the container, so I had to wait a week to get the damn brush.

They nickel and dime you to death with the accessories that no one should have to pay extra for. Their makeup is just all right - nothing special. They do have a great eye makeup remover though.

As a customer, I have to say the products are really great. The experience you have with Mary Kay as a customer is largely based on who your consultant is. Does she recommend products? Is she helpful? Is she too pushy? Is she always trying to recruit you? Does she give you freebies or is she always trying to get you to spend more? The good thing is you can change consultants if you are not happy.

As a consultant, it is definitely a good company to have as a business partner. Again, your experience will depend greatly on your director and your own personality. But, it is your own business so you can make it whatever you would like for it to be.

My sister and I went to one of the 'make over' sessions for demonstrators. They offered little gift prizes for questions, so I asked, 'what does it cost to become a consultant?" The start up kit was around $125.00. That is all that they said. What they didn't tell you is that they want you to buy packages of products to have on hand for customers. The packages range up from 600-3000. or so, and they say you won't be successful unless you get one. They even encourage you to take out a personal loan to do it. Then, they want you to always wear dresses, so if you don't have a lot, you have that expense. Unfortunately, my sister didn't find out til after she had purchased the kit. She ended up giving the stuff away.

I used to be a pampered chef rep. I just don't have the personality to be a sales rep, but that was a great deal. I think the kit cost me $75.00 when I joined at a party, then I agreed to hold 3 home parties - after that it was my decision and I had all those neat products.

I have been a MK consultant for 3 years. I love the products and use them myself. Sometimes I see people get caught up in a "get rich quick" fantasy and it doesn't work that way. The company provides me with great skin care products, mentoring and business building training. I can work at it as hard as I want to. Success for me doesn't mean jewelry and cars. Rather, I like the fact that I provide quality products to my customers and I don't have to look for the next "LATEST, GREATEST" in the Wal-mart makeup aisle!!! Mary Kay does that research does that for me.

I had a makeover by a Mary Kay rep. I bought all different kinds of products. When I brought them home and used them- I hated it!!!
It made my face and eyes burn and it felt awful on my skin. Some people do like the products, but for me- no Thank You!!!

I started using it because I have oily skin and they have a line of moisturizers and foundations that prevent shine. And I became a consultant to get the 50% discount on product.
