Gary F, John Condo - You really need to start listening to propaganda that makes sense at lease. How does a mind start and stop with, "duh".

Yes, especially 5 years ago. If they had been running the country for the month of September 2001 there would not have been a 9/11.

An Excuse-Spouting Bush Is Busted by 9/11 Report

As early as May 2001, the FBI was receiving tips that Bin Laden supporters were planning attacks in the U.S., possibly including the hijacking of planes. On May 29, White House counter-terrorism chief Richard Clarke wrote national security advisor Condoleezza Rice that when these attacks [on Israeli or U.S. facilities] occur, as they likely will, we will wonder what more we could have done to stop them.

At the end of June, the commission wrote, "the intelligence reporting consistently described the upcoming attacks as occurring on a calamitous level." In early July, Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft was told "that preparations for multiple attacks [by Al Qaeda] were in late stages or already complete and that little additional warning could be expected." By month's end, "the system was blinking red" and could not "get any worse," then-CIA Director George Tenet told the 9/11 commission.

It was at this point, of course, that George W. Bush began the longest presidential vacation in 32 years. On the very first day of his visit to his Texas ranch, Aug. 6, Bush received the now-infamous two-page intelligence alert titled, Bin Laden Determined to Attack in the United States. Yet instead of returning to the capital to mobilize an energetic defensive posture, he spent an additional 27 days away as the government languished in summer mode, in deep denial.

"In sum," said the 9/11 commission report, "the domestic agencies never mobilized in response to the threat..."

If only he HAD done nothing, but he actually made the situation worse.

Soon after inauguration, Bush quietly ended the Cole investigation and withdrew the team of over 100 FBI and JTTF (Joint Terrorism Task Force) agents that Clinton had sent to Yemen to investigate the Cole bombing.

Then, in March of 2001, when the task force sent the White House their final report, which implicated bin Laden and named al Qaeda operative Khalid Shaikh Mohammed as the architect of the bombing, Bush and Rice simply shelved the report and took no action against al Qaeda. Mohammed went on to be the chief architect of the 9/11 attacks.

Later, after Mohammed was captured in Pakistan, he told his American interrogators that it was specifically Bush's failure to follow through with the Cole investigation - and particularly his failure to come after Mohammed - that convinced him that al Qaeda could mount the 9/11 attacks and get away with them.

It will always be a moot question whether White House diligence and attention could have prevented the 9/11 attacks, but it is a given that failure to act against the Cole bombers and failure to heed the multiple warnings about future attacks simply opened our doors wide to attack and made bin Laden's task simple.

CLINTON VBS. TERROR

Only weeks after Clinton took office in 1993 (following 12 straight years of Republican presidents), terrorist scum tried to bring down the towers.

What did Clinton do?

- within a month, four people were arrested,
- they went on trial that September,
- the trial lasted 6 months, and
- they were all convicted

Are you aware that Clinton stopped eight 9/11-size attacks, despite a Republican Congress that tried to stop his every move?

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up 12 U.S. jetliners simultaneously.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up UN Headquarters.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up FBI Headquarters.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up the Israeli Embassy in Washington.

--Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up Boston airport.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up Lincoln and Holland Tunnels in NY.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up the George Washington Bridge.

-- Stopped cold the planned attack to blow up the US Embassy in Albania.

-- Named the Hart-Rudman commission to report on nature of terrorist threats and major steps to be taken to combat terrorism.

-- Tripled the budget of the FBI for counterterrorism and doubled overall funding for counterterrorism.

-- Detected and destroyed cells of Al Qaeda in over 20 countries

-- Created a national stockpile of drugs and vaccines including 40 million doses of smallpox vaccine.

Are you aware that the Taliban are stronger in Afghanistan now than they were before Bush invaded?

That opium production is Afghanistan is at record levels and the money from it fills terrorist’s pockets.

Are you aware that Bush is losing in Iraq?

Are you aware that Bush is losing the war on terror?

Are you aware that Bush has destroyed America’s dignity, honor, and reputation?

I am not only better informed than anyone in the administration, but a better analyst as well.

The Iraq plan was a stupid idea doomed to failure – that is what Colin Powell’s ‘pottery barn’ analogy was meant to convey, but fell on deaf ears. There are a number of recent geopolitical analogies to support historic evidence predicting that we would be in exactly the position in which we now find ourselves. Bush’s father knew it – check out his book A World Transformed (1998) co-authored with Scocroft.

The administration, who bore the responsibility of establishing a legitimate basis for their perception, never has or will – because they cannot. It’s the same reason the idiotic democratic party struggles to define themselves – they, too, are looking for a ‘plan’ that does not exist.

You did not pick up very much during your worldly travels, did you?

This is my answer form another thread. Most of it applies here.. Think about it after your read it!!!

"HE IS A GREAT PRESIDENT. For all those that are whining....Have you ever served in the military??? Worked for the High level gov't? WELL LET ME SET YOU STRAIT!!!

There are many things that are not given to the general public. Info, picts, tapes, Etc. The upper gov'ts decisions are based on information that is not made known to the Public nor will it ever be....Even the "agency's" or "Sources" that say they know are not enlightened.

I have lived all over the world. I have seen first hand how well we have it in the US. I can see why many other countries or religions are soooo jealous of us. All of our leaders have done their best working with some of the worst circumstances.

You may not agree with them but I am willing to bet that you really know nothing about the real issues. That is not an insult but a mere fact. Most of America doesn't know the whole story nor is it their business. This is why we elect people to run the country. If you feel that your being slighted by the Gov't please feel free to live in another country......But I bet sooner or later...You will want to come back to the Great US. And to President Bush!!!

ME!!! I have lived it & done it."

If that's your point, then he must be doing a REALLY BAD JOB. Is it being an arm chair president by simply questioning the King? I know the Republicans were soooo good to Clinton, never bothered him or got in his way!

Neo cons have forgotten this, but when Clinton wanted to go after bin Laden, who stopped him? The GOP leaders on the Hill saying oh he's just "wagging the dog", which happened to have been released in theaters around then.

I have a better idea, Let's go back even further, reinstate the original constitution, call all our troops back to protect our borders, and then do a little house cleaning, complete with ropes and guns. Then we can start over,as a real united states. And yes that means killing most all local, state, and federal, employees. most all lawyers, and corporate CEO's, and let's not forget the other criminals that are spending life in prison, for murdering children and enslaving others to do their biding.

No, the majority of the idiots on here wouldn't know where to begin. They would be hand puppets to the democrats and would only care about what the American public thinks how they are doing. They would ruin our economy, ruin other countries economy, we would end up like France (without a backbone) and too afraid to stand up for ourselves when the time arises.

Montavious

Your point about Clinton just goes to show you that the f*ckin democrats cannot stand up for what they think is right.

Why? He told us he was the most qualified, and that he would do the best job. If it was an option to get into the white house and fix things, I am all for it. But I wouldn't cater to the special interest groups or big business, so I wouldn't be there.

Careful what you wish for. . .

Yeah, 50 million people running the White House for a month. What are you thinking?

You know that sarcasm isn't going to get you very far. Bush has ruined our country as a whole, it is going to take years to fix it, Now I'm not saying I can run this country, which is why I didn't run for President... I expect that the person that promises he can will do what he promises otherwise he shouldn't have run. I didn't vote for Bush which gives me the right to gripe about him all I want, I did vote and it certainly was not for him .... that's the great thing about living in the US

Great idea!

It's so easy to sit back and say what you don't like, but coming up with an actual solution is very difficult. Anyone who has ever had the slightest bit of responsibility in their life should be able to understand this.

One does not have to be an arm chair president to understand that the Bush administrtion has blundered horrendously. Even in satisfying their own avarice they have failed miserably.

What we need to do is to find worthwhile candidates whom we can support in their efforts to be elected to top offices. That should be the task at hand.
