I'm using Win XP and Ubuntu Linux on my computer (dual-booting). In fact, I'm typing this answer using Linux. I find that some parts of XP are better than Linux, but part of that is because I'm still learning about Linux. As time goes by, I'm using Linux more than XP. You can go to Ubuntu Linux and order a free live CD, or download and make your own. A live CD lets you play with Linux without having to actually install it so you don't change anything on your computer. Try it for a while and see what you think. If you want to stop using it at any time, remove the CD.

If you want to make your own live CD, you will need an .iso burning software on your computer or the CD wont work. Microsoft recommends this free power toy download:

And this gives instructions on how to use it

Yes, I use Linux. Linux a operative sistem of free distribution, open source, and free of any pay. Linux has a lot of distributions (like versions). Xp is easy to use and all the hardware can be connected like cameras, printer etc. but in linux you need to find the drivers.
Linux is for advance users. More stable, better, but you need to study a lot.
You can install a a linux distribution in the same computer whit windows xp, I have windows xp and mandrake.

you dont want to install linux over windows xp or your pc will be in big problems you will have no windows xp and no drivers to the pc if you install linux you can try linux your self buy downloading it then burning it on to a dvd(r) cd then you start the pc with the linux dvd , cd in the drive but dont install it just run it from the cd when you have had a look at what linux is like then you restart the pc remove the linux cd and then go back to windows xp ,

SUSE Linux 10.1 Live version

SUSE makes the live version of SUSE Linux available for download as an ISO image. This version runs entirely from the bootable DVD and is not installed on the hard disk.

If you want to get to know SUSE Linux or test if your hardware is fully supported, the live version is the right choice for you.

Download the live DVD ISO image here.

I would say it is complementing XP's lack of technical superiority, so I keep both of them on and use both of them.
