No I don't think so. Although, the same rules that the south followed in the constitution could be followed again to secede from the union. The honorable Abraham Lincoln in his actions to keep the south within the union set a president that the supreme court would probably uphold and allow federal troops to do the same thing it did the first time. The civil war was not as much about slavery as it was states rights...when the south lost the war the states lost most of the power that they wielded at that time. The weaker federal government took a much larger role in the governing of the states. (Rather than the states governing themselves as was the practice up to this time). The Federal Gov. was to protect international borders and deal w/ foreign powers as united states, but did not meddle in the every day affairs of the states until after the Civil War.

No the south is what makes this country strong and we know it. We make up the mojority of the millitary and are the most patriotic states. WE love the united states and can't believe how many people up north are so against this nation's military. Exp: At a college up north an Army Recruiter was phyicaly assaulted while running a recruiting drive. Then the college outlawed military recruiters on its campus. Why did they do this. The recruiter wasn't to blame here. He was just doing his job, trying to get young people in the military. He wasn't trying to force anyone to join the military he was just telling them what was available. In the south if a group of students tried something like that then the other students would jump on them because they all know someone who serves this country. The real question here is if people like you decided to immigrate to canada or mexico would we stop you?

The South is a loyal and vibrant part of the United States, with many more patriots than a place such as California. Why would they ever want to leave our country? Politically with the movements to the South from the North, Florida will become politically more important than New York, Texas politically more powerful than Pennsylvania for example.

Absolutely. Everybody should enjoy the life style they want. Southerners have always wanted the Federal Government to butt out of their lives. It's called personal freedom. Northerners want a heavy handed Socialist form of government.

Time to split!!!

Let the idiots in the North suffer with high taxes, the Kennedys, the Kerrys and the Deans. Let them have government health care. Let them have unions running their schools.

We can do so much better without them.

Time to split!

I'm out-a-here...

Never, never happening. Sorry to all those who keep the confederate flag handy and live in the past, but it's OVER. Secession in this day and age? Be serious...
