I don't see why not. They still prosper and thrive today even though the Internet is a thriving source of information out there. People will always want a hard copy of something. I also don't relish the opportunity to read a book on-line. That's staring at screen for longer than I want to. I like to know that I'll be able to read regardless of whether my battery is charged or not.

Yes, I think there will always be newspapers and paper books around. There's nothing like settling down with a cup of tea, a comfy blanket and a good book. Reading the book is always better than seeing the movie. Your imagination runs wild when you read.

When the internet became popular lots of people were bewailing the decline of books. But it hasn't happened yet, and i don't think it will. You can't dip in and out of a book if you have to load up your computer, the screen hurts your eyes after a while, and internet sites have made getting decent books alot cheaper. And newspapers are convenient for when you're travelling, which a computer just can't measure up to.

As a former teacher...
They aren't all that common now!!!
I used to be amazed at the number of students who barely knew how to HOLD a book, much less carry on a dialogue with one. We have become a nation of cinematic imagination, and I don't see that changing.
My teen tells me CD's are antiquated...where does that leave paper information?
So I guess the short answer is "no".

Yes, because there is nothing like opening up a book and smelling the pages and reading the words until your eyes go all fuzzy because you've been reading for so long and there is nothing as great as hearing the "plop" when the paper lands on your doormat each morning :)

I could never read a "book" online... I need to carry it to the bar, carry it to the couch, and carry it to bed !! I like to feel the paper-back flex in my hands and even scribble notes in the margin as I read...

I DO get most of my news online rather than from a newspaper.

I doubt I'll still be alive when and if we ever reach a paperless future.

Reading a book online just isn't the same. I like to be comfortable when reading a book. Sat up right starring at a monitor for long periods just doesn't feel comfortable.

Don't like to read from the screen and feel that i have to be at this precise spot. Book i can take with me anywhere. same with paper. I think they will survive, but not in this huge amount. We have to think about recycling more!
