I understand your excitement, but I would also recommend waiting to make baby purchases. Not to scare you, but the reality is that it can take a LONG time to conceive, and even when you do, things can go wrong. It took us almost 2 years to conceive, and then finally we conceived twins last year. I had the nursery almost completed by the time I was 6 months pregnant, then went into labor at 6 months and ended up losing both babies (one stillborn and one 10 days old). It's excruciating to go into the room now and see all the baby stuff -- like a constant reminder of our loss -- and I can't imagine how difficult it will be when we (hopefully) have more children and have to actually use the stuff that was bought for the babies who are now angels. I would just recommend that you focus your excitement elsewhere and hold off on the baby purchases until you are reasonably sure that things will go well and the things won't end up causing you pain. I can't imagine how difficult it would be for you if you bought a whole bunch of things and then had difficulty conceiving or lost a pregnancy or child......

I have many times when needed. There are a few stores that still do but most of them are now for only 30 or 60 days. Most businesses have done away with them for the same reason Wal-Mart is. They don't make no money from it and has a large amount of overhead to keep it. In stead of charging a minimum fee to help with the cost they just choose to drop it. Do what I did - find a bank that has a Christmas club account. You continuously put money in throughout the year and at the end of October they send you a check just in time for Christmas shopping. I like it much better plus you get interest.

No, I haven't. Some stores do still have layaway, except Wal Mart in a couple of months.
