HAHA 2 minutes old and nobody can claim to be a Liberal and a veteran. Pretty sad. Yet, they have no prob bashing the US and the military on a daily basis.

I don't consider myself Liberal or Conservative, but after the bs I've seen on here, it'll be hard for any Lib to get my vote in the next election. Over and over, they're asked for facts and can't do it. They resort to name calling and repeating old rhetoric.

EDIT: Actually, amatukaze, if you read it again, you'll notice I didn't say my vote was based on what I read on here. However, it does influence as MANY things do. Often, the Dems are asked to site facts or list sources and can't do it. To me, that just proves they don't have a platform and can't decide which side their on. I suppose it depends on what's popular at the time. I happen to be well informed in many ways. At least I don't just vote strait ticket based on a party. I'm sorry for you if you think someone would be ignorant enough to vote based just on Yahoo! Anwers. Maybe that's something that you do or maybe you're one of those strait party ticket votes. Either way, you don't know me, my intellect or voting habits.

ARGGHHHHHH! Geez, I am so sick of this ****. I'm a moderate and yes, I served. But I am an Independent voter, who usually votes Republican, being disgusted by this blame game being played. The Repubs are Hitler, and the liberal Dems are Commies. What is the point made by all this over the top labeling and pigeonholing? Are you seriously suggesting that Democrats do not serve their country, do not love their country and wouldn't fight to the death for Her? If liberals are conservative-bashing it is because they know failure to take responsibility when they see it in light of recent events - and I'm not just talking about Foley. They also have plenty of experience in BEING bashed by the neo-cons in the Repub Party. I have been unsure for many weeks how I was going to vote in November, but the corrupt air coming from Washington has been choking me regularly, not to mention the hypocrisy. At least Dems don't claim to be the only holders of morals and values. That claim belongs solely to the Repubs, and it's been blown sky high out of the water this last year. Sorry, but you guys have blown it with many of the moderate and Independent voters. You'll have only yourselves to blame when we vote Democratic and give the House and Senate over to them in November.

I'm a veteran that served in the armed forces.

I consider myself a Moderate that has problems with President Bush's policies, both foreign and domestic.

Because I'm a voice of dissent, however, I am labeled a Liberal by the majority of conservative voices on here. My patriotism is questioned by people who accuse me of coddling terrorists and hating America because I raise questions about our current administration. I've received emails and instant messages with language I'd rather not repeat in this forum.

But I accept the abuse, because that's precisely why I served in the military -- to preserve the civil liberties of people who wish to voice their opinions, no matter how strongly I disagree.

Sean Hannity, Ann Coulter, Bill O'Reilly and the rest of the conservative talking heads can accuse me of whatever they want. I served my country. Did they?

I am a veteran of the Air Force and my ex husband often referred to me as a liberal; however, I am not 100% sure what the difference in all of these are, so I just try not to talk too much about politics.

Michael-it has been said for several years that a recruit can ask for a time out, but this is not correct, if the do, the TI will just humiliate them even more. I can't believe that recruits go to Basic Training believing that they can actually ask for a time out.

I hope you aren't implying that people who did not serve in the military are less entitled to express their opinions. I think I'm covered by the fact that my brother is currently in the Army. I do the conservative-bashing for him. Plus my father and FIVE of his brothers are veterans, too.

Your premise is wrong. Not all people in the military are rabid conservatives. Right now there are eleven first-time candidates for Congress running as DEMOCRATS. Do you accept "conservativ bashing" from THEM?

I served for a long time in the army, but I don't know whether I'm a liberal or a conservative. How can I tell which one I am ? Also what's the difference ?

As someone pointed out already, being in the Armed Forces and being able to express your opinions have nothing to do with one another...

Or maybe you are advocating that only those that serve my vote (or express opinions)...in which case, generally speaking, you are advocating a militaristic dictatorship...in which case, you are openly calling for the destruction of the Constitution.

Can't say I've ever seen one of the "libs" openly call for that.

Last time I checked, the Constitution protected my right to express my opinion REGARDLESS of military service. You may not like it, but I have a right to say it. If you don't like it, there are a number of countries that follow your line of thinking like North Korea and Iran. Perhaps you would be more comfortable there?

Perhaps you should fresh open on some common quotes from past Presidents (both Repub. and Dem.) regarding the danger of the military being so close to the ruling party?

And the saddest thing I've ever seen hands down is "HEartstri..." openly admitting that they base their voting choices on what they have read on Yahoo! Answers. Well...as long as you are informed by reliable sources right....
