I have the original monitor from 2001, if there is nothing wrong with it then why get another? Please no rude comments. Just curious. Thanx in advance for your answers.

CRT or Cathode Ray Tubes monitors are prone to Phosphor burns (shadowing) over time hence the reason for screen savers, i think there is nothing wrong with using them with the exception.
They have a tendency to flicker if the refresh rate is not correct.
Higher radiation output than TFT.
More power hungry than TFT.
Larger size than TFT.
Heavier than TFT.
If there is nothing wrong with the monitor you are using then why change it.
The cost of TFT monitors has come down a lot over the last couple of years, if you tried to replace your CRT monitor you would be hard pressed to find another CRT.

Just built a new machine and decided that a new flat screen LCD would pay for itself in less than a year. The LCD uses 35watts for a 19" widescreen. My old 17" CRT used 168watts! :-)=
