Very cheap cars will cost you in the long run, because you'll want to upgrade cars sooner, the car will likely come apart and look older sooner, and if you want to sell it you won't get much money for it.

Check out the following cars online: Toyota Yaris, Mazda 3, Dodge Caliber, Honda Civic, Honda Fit, Nissan Versa, or go for the car with the best base value the Scion tC. Then choose your top 3 and check them out at the dealer.

The best car for you can only be decided by you. Go try them out. Have fun and good luck!

If you want used, look into the Chevy Beretta / Corsica. They are the least expensive GM models to offer the 3.1 motor. As long as the car has been taken care of, the may not be a better old model V6 ever built. If you want to price it up a little, the Pontiac Grand am and Grand Prix were available with that motor too. The Buicks in that body style had the 3.3. Its also really good, but not as good as the 3.1. Plus, the trannys are all real strong.

The new Honda Civic Coupe or Sedan is the best car for the money in the US. Base models are in the $15,000.00 to $16,000.00 range. This model is another example demonstrating that Honda's engine technology is the best in the world.

For used cars, Honda/Acura and Toyota/Lexus are excellent choices. Do not buy any car that has ever been in Louisiana.
