She holds her crying baby in her arms and says she does not want you give her the money she wants you to walk with her to the restaurant and buy her the meal. What would you do, remember you are standing at the entrance of your job and you are already 2 hours late.

I would take her to get something to eat. I was already late so it really would not matter. I would also make sure the child had plenty to eat and that they had somewhere to stay. Just feeding her would be good but God calls us to go beyond just that. He tells us to treat others the way you would want to be treated. I would want someone to help me maybe find a place to stay and help me any way they could. I'm not saying allow yourself to be taken advantage of but do all you can. Go above and beyond. I would have made sure they had something to eat then told her to meet me back here when i got off and helped her even more. If she was there when I got off that means she is really looking to better herself and not just trying to live off everyone else.

Peace Be With You and God Bless

If I had the money to spare, absolutely! You're already late, what difference will a few minutes make? You will howewer, make a difference in the life of a hungry mother and her child. Without a doubt, I will buy her a meal and something for the baby as well. Some people are in less fortunate circumstances and may need a little help while they are in a rut.

Buy her the meal? Well i modified my answer because the moral ppl have a good point. Baby needs to eat and if you buy her the meal and eat with her, it is in a way making sure that the money goes to the intended, not to drugs or a pimp(Goddess forbid!) In essence its the same thing as giving her the money for it. Its a noble gesture and the karmic law will bless you manyfold for yr altruism!

You are already late, so what difference is a few more minutes going to make? Go to the restaurant with her and after she chooses her (and baby's) meal, pay for it and then head back to work. No need to sit and watch her eat it.

i would explain that I was late for work, and that if she genuinely needed a meal, that she would be fine with taking the money i give her and buying it herself. Then i would give her some cash and go to work, after work i would try to find her and ask if her baby has food, if the baby did not have food I would take her to the store and buy whatever she needed for her child.

Wow! You guys are really not very empathetic at all~
Of course you or I will buy the baby something to eat, and give her a few bucks, and call your boss & explain (that's why you are a good HONEST employee), who knows what it's like to be without food for your child.
But by the grace of God, therefore go I.
What goes around, comes around...only 10 times~
Doing good deeds is like depositing blessings in the bank up in the cosmic FOR REAL FORT KNOX, you need one, you can withdraw...GOLD..OF KINDNESS, which always plays out into material well being. Can you really put a value on something as precious as the child's (of OUR future)well being? And,
if she is at fault, and doesn't deserve it, that's none of my business....I am only a servant.

If i were already 2 hours late, I'd say "f*ck it" and spend another 30 minutes to walk with this lady and her baby to a nearby restaurant and buy her something to eat.

I'd go ahead and buy it for her. I'm already two hours late, anyway--an extra half hour isn't going to be that much more, and as long as she wants it for a meal, that's fine. I've actually tried to offer to pick up something from McDonald's for homeless people when they asked me for money, and they got all beligerent at me.

Buy her the meal and slip her a few bucks on the side. You're already late for work. A few more minutes aren't going to matter.
