It depends on what the illness is.
With viral infections, you are contagious befoer you see the symptoms.
With bacterial infections, you are contagious period.

Depends VERY much on what type of illness!!!
But in general, no, it's untrue. Others may get sick from you at any stage during a cold / flu for example.
But if you have the chickenpox you are only contagious before you realise you have it and then again when the scabs drop off!
As I said, each disease is different.

You can still get others sick, even before you notice symptoms. After you start medication, you are usually not contagious after the first three days.

No. Actually you can pass the illness on such as a common cold without even knowing it. The bacteria is incubated, until the body temperature kinda like " brings it to life." It is hard to explain.

depending on the illness you have you are contagious for 24-48 hours after you begin meds. unless your doctor says otherwise
