I don't believe in all the myths because they say if you carry high then you are having a girl or if you carry low you are having a boy. Well I carried high and I have a little boy. They also say that if you keep your look then you are having a boy. They say girls take your looks away from you when you are pregnant. Also when I was pregnant I had a hard time swallowing my saliva. I know it sounds gross but I couldn't swallow due to the hormones. Do you have that problem?

I am in my ninth month and the baby has yet to cooperate during an ultrasound to find out the sex. Good Luck.
It is fun to guess though. There are always the old wives tales which are fun to test out but never anything for sure. Here are a few that I have heard:
Fetal heart beat: The speed of the baby's heart beat should be between 110 and 160 beats per minute. If it is a boy the heart rate will be lower than if it is a girl. Girls should be around 150 and up and boys tend to be lower. This one was true with my first.
Nose growth: One of the older ones is that if your nose grows while you are pregnant you are haveing a girl.
Grooming: This was a common one that I heard, if you are doing your hair all the time, wearing make up and dressing up you are having a girl. If you don't really care about all that you are having a boy. This was also true with my first, but I don't do any of that now cause I have a two year old to chase after. So who knows with this one.
Carrying: How you are carrying is always a classic. If it is small and up front it is a boy. If you are all hips it is a girl. This was totally wrong with my first.
Enjoy guessing.... I made bets with everyone who has told me they are positive that they know the sex of the baby. Either way I am getting free lunch for about a month. Hopefully you can find out sooner or later if you want. I have really enjoyed not knowing this time around. Just remember even ultrasounds can be wrong, genetic testing and giving birth are the only guarantees on finding out the sex for sure. Good Luck!

Mother's Instinct!!
Now, it's not 100% accurate but it's pretty close.
My husband and I wanted a boy with our first one, and for a while, we both were pretty convinced we were going to get what we wanted.
We couldn't tell in the ultrasound.
About the middle of the 2nd trimester, I sat down and kind of just concentrated on the life inside me. I decided that I was having a girl. Eventually, even my husband was convinced.
On 03-29-06, I gave birth (by C-section--not my choice) to a healthy 6lb 5oz baby girl...her name is Anastacia. So in that case, my instincts were correct.
I don't know if it's going to happen this time around if we are successful in TTC, but we are once again hoping to conceive a boy.
Good luck, and God bless!!

Soory....but all the guesses are just guesses..... even ultrasounds are not 100% accurate......I have had a level 2 ultrasound because I am almost 39 and the fetal medicaine specialist said without a doubt mine is a girl...but I am waiting until my second one Nov 10 to start buying girlie things.....Only an amnio is 100% accurate....and they only do that for medical reasons

Ive always known of the high or low myth which stood true for alot of my friends and relatives, however it is not exactly accurate. Personally I feel as if you should just trust your instinct, usually a person can just tell instinctively. Think about what you think it may be, not what you want it to be. Usually a mother knows! Best of Luck... :)

I found that if you are having a girl you tend to gain weight all over especially in the butt and hips and boys tend to be just in the belly. my daughter heartbeat was in the 160 range and both my sons were 150 and below..hope this works for you

theres if your bump is high or low - high means a girl - low and in the back is a boy
also put a ring on a necklace and hold above bump - if it goes round its a girl, if it swings back and forth a boy - DONT cheat by moving your hand
