Oh, you people with piercings LOL. My daughter got one and hers was very painful, sore and was black and blue for about six months. Try warm water and sea salt solution and take a cotton swab and cleanse the area every day and night. It will soothe it somewhat and take the pain away. Take Tylenol every six hrs, that helped my daughter. If it infects I would have the darn thing taken out immediately! But the sea salt should take care of that too. Good luck. Oh and you can buy sea salt in any grocery store, its right where the regular salt is.

This is NOT normal. It is infected. You have to decide, do you want to treat the infection with the earring in, or take it out and treat it, and pierce it again later when it is completely healed. It will need antibiotic ointment to heal, either way. I'm inclined to take it out and heal it first, it sounds pretty bad. I assume it's not a cartilage piercing (these usually are tender for some time, but not inflamed) because you are unfamiliar with what's normal in an ear piercing, and a person's first ear piercing is usually not cartilage. A non-cartilage piercing should never hurt, let alone bleed, after the piercing.

Use hydrogen peroxide on a q-tip to clean it. Make sure your hands are clean before you touch it. Yes, it takes time to heal and hitting on the door frame will make it sore for a while. Just be careful and take some Ibuprofen for the pain and inflammation.
