Licensing is of course a local issue so check with your town or city offices to see what is required. Also consider do you need insurance. Good luck!

Well did you watch the auditions last season for "So you think you can dance?" At least 1 out of every 10 supposed dancers was a Hip Hop Insructor ha! ha! so apparently you don't need a lincense and you don't even have to know how to dance! So go for it, if you can find some people willing to pay you for dance lessons like those people did the more power to you look at all the dumb products they sell on those infamercials. You get that junk home and it's not worth the s/h you paid. It's the american way I say go for it and to the peep's Buyer beware! Good Luck!

The first thing you should do is at least take dance lessons, there are many that are not expensive. They can also give you the information to take your desires to teach, a step further and point you in the right direction. At least for now, I would take your focus off of Hip Hop, and just focus on dance in general as well as choreography. You will need that broader spectrum to be a successful instructor.

If you want to work for organization they most likely want you to have CPR training. If you freelance a good insurance policy might come in handy.
