You can open a DOS window start>run>cmd
Any of the DOS commands will take a UNC input
e.g. to search "program files" on machine Laptop2 in your workgroup
>DIR "\\Laptop2\c\Program Files\*.*" /s
notice if the path contains spaces you need to contain the path within quotes and there is no colon after "c" even though the "c" refers to the C: drive on Laptop2
