How high? This could be normal, how long does it take to idle down, is it cold outside? Most cars idle high for a minute or two when they start up, to warm up the engine, then the idle should go down to normal.

Get codes pulled from the computer. This sounds like an oxygen sensor going bad. :-)=

bad temp sensor or oxygen sensor .if check engine lite on go to parts store for free check.
