This is a little hard because I don't know what you have in mind. Are you going alone or as a couple, or in a group. They all make a difference as to what you might want. It also matters a little if you are a large girl or a small girl. My favorite thing to do is make something at home. Store bought is just so not yelling this is my style. In the past I have been a clown, witch, punk-rocker, pumpkin, bride, movie star, and rich girl. Two years ago I made my grandson's costume and he was Harry Potter. He was 5 and won first place in the costume division. No matter what you decide, have a fun safe HALLOWEEN.

I would definitely suggest something unique - you see a lot of witches and fairytale characters, even for adults.
You can get some fun ideas from www.costumeideazone.com - some of my favorites were the "babysitter" - strap a baby doll to your bottom, or "Little Dead Riding Hood" - little red riding hood outfit, but make your self up with blood and scratches because this time the wolf got you. There's a lot of fun ideas on there.
This year my husband is going to be Napolean Dynamite - a lot of people are doing this. But I'll be Napolean's mother (even though we never saw her in the movie - I have an active imagination). I got a mumu and the same wig and glasses, and I'm adding bad coral lipstick, blue eyeshadow and a chain for the glasses - and of course some white trash slippers.
Just be unique - and you'll have even more fun!

Be a tornado, I was one year and it was a blast. Here's how
wear cute black mini skirt cut all jagged at the bottom with a black tank top, black tights and shoes
get some pillow stuffing and spray paint it silver/gray with sparkles then buy little objects like cars, trees, firehighdrant etc. (I went to the dollar store for these)
hot glue stuffing to your cloths and hot glue objects to the stuffing.
I made my hair big and sprayed silver sparkles in it then painted a lighting bolt (cute of course) across my face.
had a few questions about what i was but all in all it was a hit
Good Luck - I Love Halloween!!

i am a witch every halloween, EVERY ONE. but i'm a different type of witch. sometimes i'm a old hag type of witch, once i was one of the Sanders sister (from Hocus Pocus), once i was a witch from Harry Potter movies, wearing velvet and soft suede, very earthy looking, once i was a mystical witch. and this year i will be a medieval witch. kind of a cross between a wench, and a gypsy. with my basket of herbs and potions. i'm even gonna 'tatoo' (with washable pens and pencils) symbols on my face and hands. so i like to keep it simple with my costumes because i have my four children's costumes to tend to each halloween. have fun and HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!
