Do you like it when people tell you nice things or do you get embarrassed?

I like it, but it can embarrass me if the compliment is longer than a few sentences.

Heck no I like being praised and complimented it is a nice feeling to know people care lol

I like it but I'm never really sure how to take a compliment. Usually I respond with a shy smile and say "Thank You" but I always I knew another way to respond.

it's insulting to the compliment giver
to receive a compliment with self-deprecating embarrassment

when you throw off praising words
or appear to treat those words lightly (as undeserved)
you're saying to the speaker
that his judgement is weak
and his opinion is of little matter and value

just smile
and say
"thank you".

show respect
for his ability to "note" something that caught his interest
and for his effort/courage to tell you about it

look in his eyes
when you say thank you
give him the respect of your time
no matter how brief and passing

you don't have to quickly come up with something about him to compliment as payback

however,
he WILL consider his compliment "repaid"
if you say:
"thank you. that's nice of you to say."
"thank you. i appreciate you telling me"
"thank you. i'm glad to know it was helpful"
etc.
phrases like those
are, actually, real compliments

I do tend to get embarrassed only because I don't know how to reciprocate. I thank them, but then the cat gets my tongue.

I like it very much when some one says something nice to me... but i try to hide it by getting in that persons face and screaming obscenities
