SEC...Tenn, Florida, Arkansas, LSU, Auburn. For football.
I'd even go on a limb and say SEC for basketball now too. Who won the National Championship this past year. Florida Gators. and past contenders were Arkansas, Kentucky, and Shaq came from LSU. The SEC's basketball programs are coming up big now a days. but SEC for football all the way!!!! Consistantly teams in the top 10 usually consist of 2-3 SEC teams and about 5 or so in the top 25. Big Ten only have 2. Ohio State and Michigan.

Pac 10- They've won more championships than any other conference. Year after year they continue to win nearly 2x as many championships as the closest 2nd place conference. Major sports and minor sports, the Pac 10 is always involved.

MAC- The MAC competes well w/o the cheating and scandals of the other conferences. For the past several years, the SEC has nearly half (sometimes more than half) of its schools on probation. This doesn't happen in the MAC, they have NO schools on probation. Yet, they still compete, and can win. Guys like Roethlisberger, A. Gates, Gradkowski, Jason Taylor, Greg Jennings, Frye...all from MAC schools.
The MAC does it right, by the rules.

The SEC by far. If you look at the number of teams ranked within the top 25 from year to year you will see that the SEC is constantly the leader. You may even look to the top 10 and see the same trend. Bowls bids are also proof of their strength with the SEC leading in overall bowl bids also.
The SEC also has one of the longest, most historically rich football persona's of all the conferences (Ivy League schools actually have the longest histories).
The SEC also leads all conferences in number of students which "go pro" following their college career.

This year...Big Ten. Why...Ohio State, that team up north, Iowa, and Penn State. Also look at the National Championships, by conference. They are spread through the Big Ten. Unlike the lop-sided SEC.

Without a doubt it is the Big 10!!! You've got football powerhouses like Penn St., Michigan, Iowa, and Ohio St. and then basketball powerhouses like Illinois and Indiana. Nothing can top Big 10 sports!!!

PAC-10 or SEC. The SEC has been strong throughout the years and always plays non-conference teams very tough.

PAC-10 recently, USC, Oregon, CAL, all highly ranked teams loaded with All-Americans and Heisman hopefuls.

For football, I'd have to say SEC. Every year there is an SEC team in the running for a national title, and it's very difficult for SEC teams to go undefeated because it is such a talented, competitive conference.

Definitely the Big Ten. Why? Because there are not a lot of attractions in the Midwest so the people there really rally behind their teams.

SEC here is why. Florida right now is going throw a stretch that that have to play Alabama, LSU, Auburn, and Georgia. You also have Tennessee, and who know Arkansaw was going to be any good this year. SEC is the best year in and year out.
