Back in the day when I was still in school if you did something wrong you got your butt burnt up!!!! And you sure never heard of kids bringing guns or other weapons to school. Also, if I got a whipping at school, I got one when I got home too. I'm sorry but I just don't think that kids have enough "fear" of punishment. Time out, detention, or whatever mild means are used these days just isn't scary enough to make them behave. Go stand in the corner, oh how scary.

Teachers are human. They are capable of rage, anger, hate etc just like anyone else. Teachers come in a variety of sizes. A spanking from a petite female teacher may not be the same as the one given by a 200# male teacher. And if you add anger to the equation.... it could get ugly very quickly.

I am definately against teachers having the right to use corporal punishment. Maybe we should just issue teachers guns...like some nut in wisconsin wants to put into law... then we could give up spanking and just shoot the kids. Geesh!

The only one with a right to touch your child when it comes to punishment is the parent.... A parent loves the child and only wants whats best... so they generally do what it takes to correct the kids... but even there, their are exceptions to the rule.

I went to catholic school and received several beatings... and I was what you'd call a good kid in reality... But the nuns were non-discriminating...they beat everyone!

I think corporal punishment in this country is a joke.

You should do what they do in "Battle Royal" and have the kids just kill each another. Try to save kids from being bad is a joke in this country. Mandatory boot camp is my choice, from age 6 to 16, no sex, no joy, just the basic.

Now that would be a real hoot.

i think that corporal punishment should be re-integrated into schools only because more and more parents out there are not being parents. someone has to instill discipline.

I think if my children acts up, it is my job to take care of it. They can call me and I will come get my kid, and trust me, if I have to leave work to go get them, then I will not be a happy momma. Most parents put dicipline and parenting off on the schools and expect them to raise their child and that is wrong, parenting should happen at home.

Not in schools! Send the child home and let the parents do the parenting!
