I understand where your coming from, but this is kind of a stupid question. You decided to join the army and fight for the rights and freedoms we all take for granted. You by joining the army have supported the laws we uphold and thus you have contradicted yourself in your own question because the legal age for drinking is determined by the governance you so gladly would die for. Also as a side note drinking is a harmful substance that affects the liver and causes health related problems and as it stands people of the age of 18-25 are immature in the way they handle their themselves. Thus the government is obliged to set some age whether it applies to you or not.

I believe so.
Why the government thinks you are old enough to decide who should run the country, old enough to decide who you want to live with the rest of your life, old enough to sign a contract, buy a home, serve in the military, buy cigarettes, and make your own medical decisions, then why aren't you old enough to decide if you would like a Coors Light watching the SuperBowl?

As long as you are on base you can drink. Even at 17. Off base local laws apply. Does that help?? The services have the attitude as you; old enough to fight is old enough to drink.

Why 18? Why not 17, because at 17 you can even die for your country. It's apples and oranges dude.

i think u should and i'm 45, so i have no vested interest. it's amazing to me (still) that you can be old enough to vote and through that process determine the course our country is run, marry, enter into contracts, have children, fight and risk life and limb for country, but yet are deemed too immature to drink responsibly.
