Why did accountants wear the green tinted visors for their job?

Here is my guess. It throws off enough of a hue to make the other colors on the green ledger sheet (ie: the numbers in black pencil) jump off the page. Same for the poker dealer working off a green dealer table, and/or the golfer working on a green putting surface.

Yeah, but I wonder why it was green, did it have something to do with yellow colored paper in the ledgers?
