Forget all these people that are telling you why you shouldn't admire them. If you DO admire them, that's fine--just when you give your speech, try to focus on some of their personality traits that you admire, rather than their fashion sense or whatever.
As long as it's meaningful, then go for it. You like who you like, and there's nothing wrong with that. At least you're not being pretentious and picking out some scientist or author you've got no interest in, just for the sake of sounding "intellectual."

Sure, if you admire them, but which would you pick, Mary-kate or Ashley?

If these are the people you admire then they are who you should write about. I can assure you that your teacher is looking for depth of composition and doesn't really care what person you choose. When giving the speech present your ideas in a concise, truthful manner and you will do fine on the excercise.

I am sure it would be o.k. if you admire them. I don't think it matters who it is. I just can't believe you admire Mary-Kate and Ashley.

i think mary kate and ashley are the worst role models to have.
In which point of their lives did they work hard for something?
As soon as they were born, they were put into the filming biz and had their rich n glamours life set for them. They are stupid, sexy, drug users. If you admire people that get things they dont deserve then go for it.

In what way do you admire them?
Not being negative, here, but the question is serious. In what way do you admire them? If you can't answer the question then it's probably not admiration, but simple celebrity-worship.

Absolutely! They should be admired. They are 19 (i think) and worth billions of dollars. They have their own company(s) and started when they were infants!
If only we were all that lucky!

If you admire them and have meaningful things to say that explain why you admire them, then I see no issue with it.

well ok, i would not really care but others might find it kinda funny.
Try to mention the good qualities that they have, the fact that they are young independent millionares(although they have their parents to thank for that)
They are not really talented or exceptional in anything, i have not heard them give to charity or anything, they live a swanky Manhattan life, one of them dropped out of NYU and the other has an eating disorder. Not really much to say.
