Like - "if you don't have anything nice to say, please keep it to yourself". Any other ideas?

Turn their question back on them by asking them "Why do you ask?" or "Why do you say that?" Put them on the spot and make them as uncomfortable as you are, and generally they will get the hint and change the subject.

I have found that there is no real way to tell someone to mind there own business without them taking offense.
