One of the Ten Commandments is not to commit adultery. According to the catechism that we studied, adultery is only with other people, so I dont think there is any thing wrong with masturbation. God has these catch 22's all the time. One of the commandments is not to kill, but God kills people every day. Scratching an itch has nothing to do with lust, it has to do with keeping your sanity. If you never scratched an itch, you would go nuts.

YOu are missed informed. Masturbation is not a sin because masturbation is not mentioned in the bible in either the old or new testament. It is not found anywhere. Church leaders say it is a form of sex so they lump in with other forms of forbiden sex. That is their mind set not the bibles. check out www.boysunderattack.com a good site with honest information. So take care of your itch. It is good for you and your reproductive system. Just keep it personal and private.

The bible is a book used by numerous organised religions to keep control over the sheep (humans) with fear and guilt.

Of course sex & masturbation are a sin! The organised religions say so! In fact, they would outlaw sex entirely if it wasn't our only means of reproduction; because the churches need their sheep to reproduce to continue spawning more sheep for them!

So if you believe in such drivel, and masturbation (& sex outside of their form of mariage) is a sin, then you have to figure out other ways of dealing with the pressures, the hormones, the desires, and don't forget health issues involved by not masturbating.

That's why most religious types are so frustrated; their belief in organised religions has prevented them from properly dealing with their sexuality. There's nothing wrong with masturbation; it is a natural part of maturing into adulthood and a healthy & safe form of auto satisfaction, as well as helping males over a certain age to keep their prostate and "package" in good health.

I am an atheist, and my hubby Butterman is an agnostic.

The Bible contains vague references to masturbation like other books that have been rewritten from one age to another and changes in what was originally written. If masturbation is sin then over 90 per cent of the male population are sinners.

Here we are in the 21st. century and the myths of masturbation still exist today.

that's a sin because of the fact we would be killing a individual. The Bible does not make reference of condoning human sacrifice. The reference the Bible makes of human sacrifice is by utilising the Pagan people who served a pagan statue Baal and that they sacrificed their own infants. because of the fact of this God despatched for their destruction to surrender the killing of the harmless lives. Please study the Bible, God cares deeply approximately mankind. He created us and "does not choose absolutely everyone to be destroyed."

I am sure scratch an itch is not a sin, but not sure about masterbation. However, it is not healthy habit, may cause diseases later on in life. Best wishes.
