I want to take my family down to the Talimena Drive and don't know if next weekend would be best or the weekend after? Is there anyway to tell when the colors will be at their best?

I depends where you go in Arkansas. The northern part has more trees and has alot more hills. Southern Arkansas has lots of farm land. You never can tell when the leaves will change here because you can have all 4 seasons happen in one month sometimes. My mom always said "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute it will change."
So come down this weekend it is suppost to be beautiful weather.

Well, from my 4 years of experience living in Arkansas I can say maybe that all weekends of November, but specially the one of Thanksgiving!! That weekend is specially awsome. Enjoy it!

The colors are awesome now. I think by the end of November they will have pretty much petered out, so try to make it now in the month of October. Happy traveling.
