Why must women still predominate in the waitress category?
The position is inherently servile. You must smile, be peppy,
feign happiness and joviality, and do everything but put on a little
dance when you service your customers.
Meanwhile, the male chefs are opeing up high-end restaurants all
over, including Vegas, and raking in the bucks.
What gives? Why do you only find blue-collar females in the servile
role of server/waitress?

Look how servile these poor girls look,
as if they pooped right out of the servants'
quarters of a robber baron estate of the 1890's...so sad

wiatresses are, like john lennon says, the
world's b i t c h. So lowly and servile, happy to do anything for a tip, just a shot at a few greenbacks.
The lowly hooter's girl by us shows us
flashes of her boobs as she puts the plates down, in an obviously calculated manner, all for that all-important tip.
so sad......

Hooter's girls are definitely the world's
collective b i t c h. They are relegated to
sex slaves/objects just to satisfy sexist males animal lusts

Ever notice how hooter's girls show just enough to get away with it? Any more and they'd raise bloody hell about the costumes. Instead we get major cleavege,
worked to maximum effect when bending over with the plates, and tight shorts with
hot legs oozing out, and just the hint of butt cheeks under the shorts, thanks to the miracle of thong underwear.

When I say blue-collar waitresses, it waitressing as a career, like at the diner
restaurants over here in chicago....older
30 something and up gals who have the whole routine downpact.
"Hey, honey, how ya doin'?(remember, this is Chicago). What can i get you guys today? Is everything okay with your food? Can I getcha somethin' else?"
Two different breeds-one, college-types
worlking thorugh school...the other, uneducated, unskilled blue-coller 30 and 40ish ladies who hustle like no one's business.

Watch FoodNetwork - there are more & more females in the top positions (Rachel Ray, Paula Deen, Barefoot Contessa, Sarah)
so pretty soon the market for male chefs will be mixing up with more ladies in line! As for why there are more female servers?
A lot of the places I've been (TGIFridays, ChiChis, Red Lobster)
the mix is about 50/50. And yes, you do even have to put on a little dance when servicing customers! lol (been there, done that)
And it's not blue-collar females, most of them are young & in college - haven't been many places with "blue-collar waitresses".
( say blue-collar & I think of Larry the Cable guy - no way do I want someone like that waitng on my table! lmao )
