My sister originally met her husband online, and they have been married for several years now. How could it be wrong? There is nothing magical or different about the internet -- it's just another form of communicating with people. It's a good, safe place to meet lots of people, one of whom may develop, over time, into a serious relationship.

Not only have I met and fallen in love through online an connection, but I have a sister that found her husband online over 7 years ago, and have a couple of friends who have married their online loves!

Just like you could meet someone at the bar or in some other social setting... the internet is a great place to meet! All you really need to do is be honest, open, and communicate! Being able to talk and find out about a person, (usually before actually meeting them) can create a bond alot quicker than just regular dating senairos... so be careful too.

Do a little investigative work about the person once you realize you'd like more from the relationship. (I would suggest doing this with any person if you met them online or not). Be careful you're not getting involved with someone that could harm you in some form or fashion.

Take your time... it's a wonderful thing! And yes... it is just as right as any other form of dating! There are no rules on how you should meet someone... :)

You might find too that there are a TON of people online that actually aren't looking for a relationship, but rather a "hook up" or date... or serial daters... Just be careful to not get your heart strings pulled by being a sucker.

Using any of these services allows you to REALLY be picky... Don't settle for someone that you find cute, but they smoke (and you don't like it).. etc for example. Set your preferences high. Sometimes you might click really good on the phone... but in person, it's a totally different story.

Keep you eye open for unconsistancies. Don't let yourself fall blindly in love. But in the mean time... have fun and stay safe! :)

I met a guy a few years ago and we were together for 2 yrs, but we were doing the long distance thing, so it was hard. I don't see any difference in meeting someone online or in a bar or somewhere else. You still can only believe what they tell you, until you find out whether or not it is true. I don't think anything is wrong with meeting someone online. I have a lot of great friends that I have met on here.

It's not a matter of right or wrong, just if it works out or not. My girlfriend and I have been together for 2 1/2 years, and we met online. You have to be careful when you meet people online, but it can be a fun way to meet people you wouldn't normally meet, like at bars, or through friends. One more thing... long distance relationships can be really difficult to make work... even though it's easy to meet people one the computer who live far away. You just have to use common sense.

My dear friend, i will start by saying that i have once fell in love with someone i met online but he is far away Tanzania, i loved him very much and he loved me but our problem was the distance and i never wanted to bother him if i will come over there or not, cos i didnt know his financial status though he told me that he teach and was currently joining the Country's Poverty Alleviation Awareness.

So, with this, i will say its not wrong but rignt cos it's right to love someone.

Again i did fell in love with a guy in my Country, to be precise, very close to my area (City), He showed me his potriat pic and he normally use Web Cam and at mere seing him, i liked him and gragually developed love for him and then we decided to see each other one on one which we fixed a date and went to see him, my dear on getting there, guess what i saw, i saw a handicapped (One leg paralised). But that has not change the way i feel about him.

So dear, with this story now, I will also say that sometimes its wrong to fall in love with the person you met online until u might have meet him or her one on one to avoid heartbreak.

Lastly my contribution is: you can like the person for the main time, until you see him or her one on one before you determine where your love can go.

I have been chatting with this guy for about more than 4 years and I think I am falling for him we never but I still can't him out of my mind. There is nothing wrong with it as long as you know the person is honest and you can accept the long distance thingy. Good Luck!!!

I dont think there is anything wrong. I am in love with a woman from another country and i dont think there is anything wrong in that. On the other hand i think the internet gives you more options than you can get locally ;)
