If it continues you should be aware of a potential herpes outbreak. Herpes I, that is, not the sexual transmitted virus.
Tingling sensations are a warning sign and if you treat it when you feel that, you can stop or shorten the outbreak.
Or it could be iritation of a nerve.

it could mean cold sore / herpes!
eat / drink lots of cranberry, raspberry & blueberry
take olive leaf extract 3 times a day
st johns wort too
do not eat yeast bread, dried foods, cheese, canola, marg, fried foods, peanuts, chocolate, oranges
avoid any chemical- shampoo, dish detergent, hair color etc

whatever you do dont touch it! that will irritate it, make it bigger, nastier and more painful than it would have originally been. definitely a cold sore
