I have yet to see entire chapters of the Bible in these answers, but I'll stick about and maybe I shall. The reason for quoting verses of the Bible is simply one of authority. People are required to cite authorities in many of life's disciplines, a good example being the law. When a lawyer argues a case in court, he doesn't tell the judge what he reckons would be a good slant on what has happened from his own point of view. He cites precedents. He quotes from learned works, otherwise known as legal authorities, confident that they, together with the reputation of their authors, have stood the test of time, been updated to bring them in line with recent legislation, and have been quoted in court many times before. When he does put forward a view to the judge, he makes sure that it is fully backed up by authorities in this way and where there is a new development in the law, this too will have to be tested against existing authorities until it eventually settles down into the legal system. Nobody suggests that lawyers are lacking in intelligence or common sense because they don't advance their own original theories.
In the same way, Christians base what they have to say upon the living word of God. They can develop ideas and draw analogies from modern life, but when it comes to it, they need to back up their statements with authority -- just as lawyers do.

I honestly think they are fundamentalists who believe that by 'religiously' spamming every question that makes an interesting point about spirituality they're going to convert us to their narrow viewpoint of life -
it has very little to do with citing authority for their answers - the chapters ARE their answers
I believe that it is against the rules of 'answers' to do this, so, report them!

They are very sad and rely on something else to respond on their behalf because they are not capable of ustilising, or brave enough to use, their own imagination and intelligence to resolve an issue!

There opinion is that you will find help in the same source that they did. Why don't people appreciate help?

They are trying to impress thinking that we are all ignorant and heathens. Which of course most of us are.
